Can You Drink From My Cup
Can you drink from my cup, I was asked long ago.
For what I require, is much more than you will know.
The road will be rocky and your home will be your hat.
And the ones you think are friends, will be those who knock you flat.
If you choose to follow ME, you will cry a million tears.
And every path you follow, you will meet with cares and fears.
There will be times of loneliness and burdens on your back.
But I will never leave you and you will never lack.
In your hunger, I will feed you, to make sure you are
strong.
For there would come so many, to speak with words so wrong.
By day my cloud will shield you and by night, you will be warm.
For angels will surround you, just like bees, when they all swarm.
I will go before you and clear each troubled path.
For deep down in the valley, will be cunning, crafty darts.
The light to rule the night, I will set to be your guard.
For drinking from my cup, will be comfort, when you are sad.
