A Planted Tree

I am like a tree that is planted,

by the rivers of water.

I will bring forth my fruit,

and neither sleep nor slumber.

A servant of the Lord,

 I am called to be..

To prosper and proclaim,

that captives can be set free.

To perish I will not,

and I will declare..

I will not be afraid,

with displeasure or tear.

From the dawning of the day,

I will rejoice in the Lord..

For once I was dead,

but I live by the Sword.

As for me and my house,

we will serve the Lord..

From generation to generation,

without fear or discord.

My soul is no longer,

vexed with regret..

For I understand the seasons,

to lay aside and to get.

My voice will be heard,

with gladness and joy..

As I hearken to my Father,

for precepts to employ.

In the uttermost parts,

of the earth I will sing..

For I am wise as a serpent,

with worship as my sting.

My defence is of God,

in whom I do trust.

And the snares and the plots,

are all trampled and crushed.

My instrument of choice,

as I sing out aloud..

Will forever be righteousness,

with one or a crowd.
