When Families Gathered

Bring back the days, when families gathered..
When hands were joined and laughter was a ladder.
Mothers would sing and fathers would pray..
And the children rejoiced, for together they would stay.

The flames from the fire, would fragrant each room..
While food on the table, was prepared without gloom.
Around the world, they would travel in time..
For the pages were turned, while bells would chime.

A classic game of chess, where the righteous played..
Were the fabric of lace, where love never decayed.
The sounds of triumph, could be heard from afar..
For the elders sang sweetly, like the brightest of star.

Through hills and valleys and rough terrain..
The family was united, though burdened with pain.
As the scars grew dim, they pressed on with faith..
For their voices blended, with love and not hate.
