You Forsake Me Not
I came with expectations, to receive and rejoice..
My heartbeat responded, with boldness and voice.
While sitting on the surface, were the clothes of despair..
My sadness came calling, within smiles and good cheer.
I bought into the challenge, of the reign of repair..
For in wonder my comfort, brought laughter with care.
My listening ear, grew weary and weak..
For my fortune was broken, with the absence of meek.
How I weep in the wilderness, where shade is afar..
As heat from the sunshine, drop hardened like tar.
The stories are unfolding, in the midst of the gloom..
Without happy endings, where love has no room.
I am empty of laughter and pray for the day..
When Glory Hallelujah, could carry me away.
My foes in the Genesis, look surreal and bright..
Yet the yearnings of passion, are withholden from light.
Oh Lord you know and destined my path..
For my testing and trial, have been from the start.
You forsake me not and know I am strong..
For I am highly favoured and forgiven from wrong.
