A Fresh Start

Help me to rejoice, in the midst of despair..

When gallows of graveyards, are dug without care.

I am learning by daylight, to stand and be strong..

As challenges await, with chains that are bound.

I know I am free, for the Word is my song..

So I lift up my voice, as a rope that is long.

In the day when I cried, the Lord wiped my tears..

With a garment of comfort, to rid me of fears.

While others plot my downfall, in hope I might fall..

The God whom I serve, gives heed to my call.

Surely the wicked, whose estates are low..

Shall hang on the willows, where ravens do go.

Though I am wearied, by the knowledge of men..

My heart doth refrain, where evil may transcend.

To escape from the shadows and erase all the hate..

I seek from the Master, in prayer as I wait.

Oh Lord, my God, how great is your name..

To be in your presence, is beyond every flame.

When all my substance, are frail in my heart..

I lean on the Father, for a fresh start.
