My Enemies Who Were Friends
I sat in the company of men, who threw me in the pit. I gave heed to their words, in hope to attain to higher heights. I took hope in the knowledge, of who I had inside. Yet into tomorrow, I was brought to my knees.
As I open my eyes and gaze up to the sky, my misfortune becomes mysteries, I can no longer deny. To be counted as a dove, I gave my feet to roam. Now the sorrow of my sadness, fills me with despair.
Oh sky above me, what do you see? Tell me of my troubles and what it means to me. Where did I fail and how can I prevail? I am consumed in the shadows and dust is my praise.
My friendship with those, I captioned in my heart. They are all gone to laughter, while I lie here all alone. Come, blessed skyline and wrap me in your care.. For I am cut in sunder and my heart is filled with tears.
Redeem my soul,
from the clutches of travail. That I may not perish, without strength as a curtain of lace. Let my dwelling be in safety, away from the dust.. Oh, that I may be avenged, from my enemies who were friends.
