My Namesake Appeared

I have prayed and wept, throughout the years..

I have gotten on my knees, with burdens and with fears.

I have counted the cost, of the cross I must bear..

Now today I stand, with favour and with care.

There were days when I thought, I could not do it anymore..

There were days when I felt, I was weakened to the core.

In the midnight hour, I would

look up to the sky..

With yearning in my heart, I would ask God why.

I walked through the wilderness, alone and afraid..

I saw every pebble, as I groaned for some aid.

The dust in the air, were my clothing with stains..

For courage and comfort, stood without all my pains.

Quiet and weary, I thought I should fade..

For ravens were distant, while my strength was decayed.

Where were you Lord.. I shouted inside..

As down on the ground, I was as broken as the tide.

My anchor.. my anchor, in Jesus my Lord..

Heard up in heaven, as I stuck to my sword.

My namesake appeared, as I gracefully beheld..

And the atmosphere shifted, for my battles were quelled.
