Rise And Repent
Who are you, to be wise in your eyes..
When your barn is empty and the silence cries..
All of your fortune, is sought by the thief..
And your house is all naked and fallen like a leaf.
Where do you go, when your son is alone..
When hunger is howling and he is chilled to the bone..
Do you run to his aid and open your arms..
As a shepherd who gathers, his sheep from all harm..
How do you harvest, the green from the hay..
When fear births the morning and your house is in decay..
Do you honour the values, planted in your heart..
So length of days, will be seeds in your cart..
Out of the mire, comes forth gold..
But your misfortune, will see it all sold..
Where is your heritage and where are your chicks..
On a perfect Sunday, is daddy on kicks..
Despise not the teachings, of wisdom and truth..
For the fox in the henhouse, is not clothed like Ruth.
Rise and repent, for redemption is here..
And just across the miles, there are those who still care.
