I Gave You Jesus

I travailed and I sought, to give you the Lord..

I pleaded with arrows, to cease your discord.

Though I fought with great might, to pour in your cup..

You hardened your heart and refused every drop.

I searched in the depth, to gain the right seed..

For in thought I declared, the Word you would need.

Likely my best, was wrapped up in gloom..

For you were in prison, rejoicing in doom.

Zeal in my actions and pep in my step..

I wrestled in pity and sorrow in depth.

Unworkable tact and iron in your heart..

Blocked every entry, to grant a fresh start.

I pray for your soul, to gather and rest..

On the day you depart, where you have been

blest.

I gave you Jesus, but you laughed in my face..

So I release you freely, in your choice of disgrace.
