Crawl If You Must

You can cry me a river, every day of your life..

Have a pity party, or be a rejected wife.

You can prop up on your elbows and dream in the sun..

But never ever forget, your battles have been won.

While there is heartbreak and while there are tears..

On days that are lonesome, with weight and with fears..

Remember who you are and who is your God..

And press on with courage and rise from discord.

Crawl if you must, like a babe on the ground..

With scrapes on your fingers and trust in your sound.

Kindle every flame and see every spark..

For the Lord God Almighty, will be light in the dark.

Blow like a trumpet, in the depth of your heart..

In deep surrender, with your compass and your

chart.

War in the spirit, in worship and with praise..

As angels be your shadow, to watch you in their gaze.

Along every pathway, there might be tares..

Stones, they may prick you and fester you with cares.

Garner every hurdle, as a prize to be won..

And fight the good fight, with strength from the Son.

When you are weak, you will be strong..

The child of the King, will dress in favour to be found.

Far from the forest, in Eden's everglow..

The echo of the Master, will be the seeds that you sow.
