The Carpenter's Child

When I was lost and alone, you sent me your Son..

You poured into my heart and said I have already won.

Disgraced though I was, you purified my soul..

And set me on fire, to pursue my goal.

From the ashes I rose, to press on with ease.

Dormant, not ever, but to do as You please.

Whereforth I tarry, while in a daze..

The armies of heaven, set me ablaze.

Behind I was filled, with the feast on the spread..

Havoc with plenty, all to my dread.

The life of my dreams, was not in your plan..

So mercy came calling, to give me a hand.

A witness and remnant, you said that I am..

To go forth by faith, for to soothe with your balm.

With tools of the trade, as the carpenter's child..

You spoke into being, my life with no guile.

The wife that I am, to my husband and friend..

I give you my all, till eternity's end.

The ring on my finger, till death and beyond..

Is a promise made, as we forever bond.
