Regret Raised Its Head

I delve into my memories and I look into the room..

To feast my eyes on faces, where there was no gloom

I welcome each embrace, of those I held dear..

And I travel through the distance, to meet those who care.

My collection of treasures, are worth more than gold.

The price is above rubies, for my eyes to behold.

I remember the days, when laughter joined the sun..

And the evervescence of portraits, were the moments when we won.

On days of old, mercy paved the way..

Through trials and misfortune, the Lord was our stay.

Heightened were our senses, when moonlight appeared..

For we danced and we sang, while sorrow disappeared.

Time in a cup, might overflow with gain.

From morning until noon, we were strong in the pain.

Though regret raised its head, we stood up as one.

To conquer every trial, with God's only Son.

I lost so many pleasures, I used to call my own.

I cry with my heartbeat, but I know I have won.

The mystery of memories, of travelling through the dust.

Are the answers to my prayers, for in God I will trust.
