Egypt Laughed

I lift up Your name, in the east and the west.
That people may know, that You are the best.
You gave your life, on Calvary's Cross..
To seek and to save, those who are lost.

By sin all men, are bound as slaves..
Held in captivity, in prisoner's caves.
Where once beneath, the weight of care..
You came to break, the devil's scare.

Egypt laughed, while your children cried..
Defeated with burdens, in sorrow they died.
Darkness was their clothing and stone was their bread..
Forgotten they thought, but still married and fed.

Gracious my Lord, you inclined your ear..
In haste and in mercy, you wiped every tear.
Precious are your children, whose hearts are your own..
Oh house of Israel, you have kept to the bone.

 Lord God

Almighty, I pray for so much..
May your sons and daughters, feel your loving touch.
Compass them about, as they sing and shout..
Glory in the Highest, without fear, without doubt.
