I Rejected Eternity

I was asleep, in the land of gone..

I rested my head, on brick and thorn.

My wrapping was grey and tight to my skin..

For my sleep was heavy and no fame could win.

Beyond I was carried, through webs of decay...

For in my awakening, I never thought to pray.

In tunnels of darkness, I groped for a place..

Where peace was my favour and my shelter was grace.

Eerie were the sounds, on the droppings of my ear..

As my bones became hot, and

I screamed out in fear.

The knashing of teeth, were not music to be heard...

And my forever and ever, was in absence to THE WORD.

While the merrying of crowds, was my chapter in life..

I rejected eternity, with my Husband as His wife.

Where I made my bed, for my unsanctified soul..

Has become what I sowed, for hell is my world.
