You Are Never Far Away

You have never been a wilderness to me.

You have never been an empty cup.

Within my hands you have placed your own.

And every day, I am called your own.

My eyes have looked beyond the vail.

And shining brightly, I always prevail.

Places I must go and lay.

Have been prepared, for my time to stay.

Every day, I lean on you.

To count my blessings and drink your dew.

I know within your heart, I blend.

With matchless strides, until my end.

You are never far away.

For in your Word, I rise and lay.

Through troubled waters, I swim with might.

Because I know, you are my guiding light.

Sorrow says, I must stay down.

Yet joy comes gently, so I am not bound.

With hope I look,

toward the hills.

To catch my breath and drink my fill.
