For Your Taste

I hear the droplets of the rain.

As it beat against the window pane.

How I wish that you were here.

To hold me tight and shield my fear.

As howling wind and thunder roll.

I ache for you out in the cold.

No cup of tea or blanket near.

Could take your love away my dear.

My heart it breaks and tears they fall.

For you don't answer when I call.

If for a moment time could turn.

I pray the Lord that you return.

If wings of doves can chart a course.

To take me where you are, for I am lost.

I know my fruits be for your taste.

As we hold fast our warm embrace.

So come to me oh love of mine.

And taste my kiss on lips so fine.

Hear my heartbeat in your ear.

And whisper words I long to hear.

Let not my smile be lost for good.

For yesterday you understood.

Though miles apart but love anew.

Would keep us close like the morning dew.
