Don't Give A Damn

Things are not always as they seem.

And I don't always say what I mean.

Because if I say what's in my heart.

I fear that you and I will part.

I wish at times you could read my mind.

As only then, indeed, you might find.

The woman that I truly am.

 Once

and for all just don't give a damn.

With grace and hope I pray that someday.

The man I love would come to stay.

And in his hand he'll hold my heart.

And keep the key that sets me free.

But for now I smile and say.

That good things come from a far-off way.

That dark clouds that once kept me at bay.

Will disappear as I smile today.
